I am so truly deeply sorry of having disappointed you. It won’t happen again. Due to a lack of time and ideas (add a tiny lil’ bit of laziness) I did not update for quite a while..

But now: It’s time to start walking with me again down that Trendavenue! For sure!

Before I stop waffling and start writing about today’s topic (little innuendo already in the title…) let me quickly say thank you to my cousin who encouraged me to write a new post otherwise she would have refused to check out Trendavenue. And special thanks to a very good friend of mine who showed me one of the most energetic videos of all time that left me ABSOULTELY speechless.

Kudos to those who feel addressed now…Let me know if you have read this, will ya?!

But enough of keeping you on tenterhooks: Here is the praised video (You HAVE to watch it till the end! Promise!)

I still get a goose-bumps every time I see it.

The energy of all those dancing people is just insane.

But what’s the idea behind all this?

The phenomenon you just witnessed is called “Flash-Mob” (get the title now?!). This term relates to a large amount of people that “suddenly” all come together in a public place to perform for just some minutes something crazy and fun. After that, everybody quickly vanishes and pretends as if nothing had happened.

In almost all cases, the people involved arrange the flash-mob beforehand via our most loved medium: the internet.

In this way, the date, time, location and the “specific” performance can be agreed upon.

The performances can vary from dancing (as seen above) and people freezing at Grand Central Station to people taking their panties off in the subway (Did I say panties? Oops, I meant pants…)…

Just check out Youtube. You don’t even know where to begin!

3. “Fame”-Flahsmob (If you were wondering, I’ll give you a little hint: “Remember my name: Fame! I’m gonna live forever…”)

4. The last one cannot really be called a flashmob because it was planned and initiated by T-Mobile. But it’s defnitely worth a look!

Hope everything’s fine and you can enjoy summer (sorta…)

Well, let me say the following. In times of crises just like these days, have you ever considered growing your own vegetables, herbs or fruits?

This year, we had the most humongous strawberries and still have these huge raspberries. And guess what? It’s obviously not the same as those overpriced, imported and genetically modified rubbish you get in the supermarket.

So, even if you just have a balcony, why not simply cultivate some fine garden herbs that will spice up every meal?!

You can never be sure about the final result but growing your own certainly looks like a lot of fun!

Seriously. I was kind of neglecting the fashion aspect on my trend blog.

But the other day I was reading about the new trend introduced by the famous British chain “Topshop”.

Jeggings combine the ever-lasting trend of leggings (either you hate or love them, right?) and the classical jeans:

The fabric, generally polyester or spandex, is elastic, and thus allows you to move freely. At least, that’s what the producers claim.

In my eyes, those jeggings look reaaaally tight.

If you are wondering what to wear in combination with them, I’d suggest a colourful long-shirt and some flats for the day.

And for the party at night a funky dress and a pair of heels will make you feel like the queen on the dance floor!

(If you can move in those things, that is…)

If you thought I am suffering from a speech impediment, I’m sorry to tell you that this is not the case. Instead, I am suffering from a SEVERE earworm.

Most of you have probably heard of Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana. (To tell the whole story would take too long).

Just let me say the following: She is only 16 years old, but due to her over-ambitious parents and the typical Disney marketing strategies, she has approximately 1 billion US-Dollar on her bank account. Yep, pretty insane.

The latest coup on her resume is the movie to her enormously successful television show “Hannah Montana.”

And I have to admit, that I indeed went to the cinema with a friend of mine in order to see if she’s really worth all the hype.

Boom Boom Clap Boom Dee Clap Dee Clap!!!

In the movie, there’s this brilliant dance scene in a barn where about 200 people are dancing in sync to the “Hoedown Throwdown”:

I just love it! It’s so much fun to dance to and definitely a nice relaxation exercise from this constant sitting around.

Maybe, it will even become the ultimate summer dance.

For me and my sister it’s always fun to build up our grandparents’ swing when summer finally arrives. (This year, unfortunately, I was absent when my sister did her annual routine. And as I returned and was about to take a seat, she shooed me away and said: “You’re not allowed to sit on it because you didn’t help me building it up…” (If you’re reading this right now, sweetheart: I love you, too!)

A couple from Ohio, Jane and Keith Crane, who are enthusiastic aficionados of the world’s most popular board game, weren’t satisfied anymore with just sitting inside and gambling. So they recreated the game, but in a supersized dimension!

On an 8 feet board, Keith framed 225 pavers, laid in a bend of sand in their backyard.

Jane then created token by taking tiles and painting them in their respective colours according to their point value.

So now, they can enjoy the warm summer breeze while coming up with crazy words, such as “zealotry”.

Only sometimes, they have to watch out for their dog that has the habit of running across the board…

In my opinion, it will only be a matter of time until the outdoor scrabble will hit the stores.

If you can’t wait that long: Put on your dungaree, lock yourself in the hobby room and don’t get out before you’ve finished all the 225 letter tiles…

For my part I can say that I’ve never been camping before. Don’t ask me why. I don’t know.

Of course, I’ve already slept in a tent. But not for more than two days in a row…It’s probably not just my thing. I need a real bed and enough space for all the stuff I’m taking with me when I’m travelling.

(Believe me, I always have to unpack before a flight because the scale’s hitting above the 20kg limit).

But there’s some hope that I finally will be going camping thanks to Stephanie Bellanger, Amaury Watine, François Gustin & David Dethoor:

That might sound like a playhouse for kids that can be taken on the road but that absolutely wouldn’t cover the sheer magnitude of their invention.

Those can be set up pretty easily with the helkp of mobile floors and walls for each unit.
