Probably all of you know those garden swings right?!

For me and my sister it’s always fun to build up our grandparents’ swing when summer finally arrives. (This year, unfortunately, I was absent when my sister did her annual routine. And as I returned and was about to take a seat, she shooed me away and said: “You’re not allowed to sit on it because you didn’t help me building it up…” (If you’re reading this right now, sweetheart: I love you, too!)

But have you ever thought about an indoor swing?

Just taking your couch, attaching two resilient ropes and fixing it to the ceiling?

Too bad for you.

Francesco Rota for Paola Lenti had the same idea and designed the Wabi Lawn Swing. Read the rest of this entry »

Imagine it is summer.

(Okay, not too hard, I know.)

Imagine further, you just had a lavish meal and are about to go to the park to meet some of your friends who’re really in the mood for some activity.

Now what do you do? Since you feel like a southern right whale you’d rather like to sit down and relax. But your friends insist on playing something.

Here’s the perfect compromise: The Scrabble Outdoor Game!

Less than two more months and we will be done with all the exams.

(Feels so good using that word.)

Because for us students that means :

Freedom. Enjoying the summer (without having too worry about a presentation). Going to the beach. Relaxing. Travelling.

That last keyword leads me to today’s topic of CAMPING (of course that was totally accidental…).

For my part I can say that I’ve never been camping before. Don’t ask me why. I don’t know.

Of course, I’ve already slept in a tent. But not for more than two days in a row…It’s probably not just my thing. I need a real bed and enough space for all the stuff I’m taking with me when I’m travelling.

(Believe me, I always have to unpack before a flight because the scale’s hitting above the 20kg limit).

But there’s some hope that I finally will be going camping thanks to Stephanie Bellanger, Amaury Watine, François Gustin & David Dethoor:

Working as product designers, they created the mobile mini house.

That might sound like a playhouse for kids that can be taken on the road but that absolutely wouldn’t cover the sheer magnitude of their invention.

Hey you techies out there!

Are you geared up for some more fancy stuff?

I just came across something that I have NEVER heard of before.

But maybe, that’s because I had no clue that someone could come up with such an invention.

Okay, sorry, I tend to waffle a lot. But that’s because of my genes…

Anyway: There’s something called a rollable/foldable keyboard.

No, not that piano-like keyboard, but the keyboard for you laptop or PC.

It is made out of silicone (Hollywood’s plastic surgeons know what I’m talking about) and is splashproof, robust and dust-protected (important to know for all the allergy-sufferers amongst you).

Note to myself: It’s also easy to clean…(I hate myself when I am having a cookie and find the crumbs three years later between my laptop keys, already a bit moldy…)

It can be easily plugged into your PC via USB-connection.

It also has built-in key illumination which can come in handy if you’re sitting in the pitch-black forest with your 55 kilogramm PC and your 180 gramm rollable keyboard, finishing your first novel.

A situation that is very likely to occur…

But you never know. So, you better get it today before it’s sold out.

Even if it seems like it; I’m not getting any commission for every item sold. All I’m trying to do is increase the purchasing power and boost our economy…

Do you live on your own? Do you find it hard to create enough free space in your teeny-tiny student pad?

If your answer is yes: Keep on reading. I got something very interesting for you.

If your answer is no: Go get yourself a drink and don’t waste your time with reading this boring post. Read the rest of this entry »

When the sun tickles us with its first rays, all glossy magazines are concerned with one major topic (aside from stories such as “How to Lose 10 Pounds in 7 days”.):

the current fashion trends for our favorite time of the year.

They always try to convince us to buy the latest, up-to-date clothes, but fail to admit that all summer trends are basically the same every year.

(I’m not even going to deal with the reoccuring “trend” of men in sandals paired with white tennis socks. This would be too frustrating and a waste of time. There are things that you just cannot change. Deal with it!)

So for us women, it is basically maxi-hippie-ethno dresses paired with ancient-Rome/gladiator inspired sandals, and nude colors. Wow, sounds so new to me… Read the rest of this entry »

Hey, this is trendavenue speaking.

This blog was born today as a task of my business applications course at the Berlin School of Economics and Law.

I am eager to give you the latest trends and developments in different kinds of areas, such as fashion, food, books and movies, and high-tech.

Posts will be regular, so that you are always up-to-date, and have something to talk about when you’re running out of topics in a boring smalltalk. (Happens to me all the time.) :-)

Stay tuned for more of the latest trends!
